Fish Collection

Fish collection is a fun game mechanic that delivers payouts while you wait for bigger hits. Wilds as special icons appear on the grid, and whenever they occur, they collect all visible fish prize icons. The fish icons may carry prizes worth 1x–25x.

Shark Attack

Shark attack entails a random attack in which a Wild converts low-value icons into better high-value tiles. It triggers when a Wild appears on the grid, but it is random and so may trigger on any occasion (but not always).

Free Spins

This is the game’s main feature. There are three progressive levels of Free Spins: Black Marlin, Nudge Up, and Hooked.  You can trigger any one of them or upgrade to a better level during Free Spins.

During Free Spins, there’s also a meter that collects Wilds.

In Black Marlin, every Black Marlin icon that lands increases the multiplier which can go from 30x to 5000x. You need 6 Wilds to progress to Nudge Up.  During the second stage, Black Marlins are nudged fully to the grid. If you land 6 extra Scatters during Nudge up, you will progress to the Hooked stage with 2+ Free Spins. Finally, Black Marlins are sticky in Hooked Free Spins.

Feature Buy

You can jump straight into action by purchasing any of the three free spins levels for 45x, 100x, or 200x your bet, respectively.  This option is not available in every market, so check before playing.

Our Experience with the Game

We are not diehard fans of the topic, but we do generally enjoy fishing games as they often take a playful stance and deliver easygoing, laidback vibes. Marlin Madness is a game that combines the theme with cool game features (the three-tier Free Spins) with nice visuals. That makes it a game that is solid; it’s not the peak of invention but it’s not something that wastes your time.

For us, the game was most exciting during free spins, especially when upgrades led to Nudge Up or Hooked mode. Shark Attack provided occasional boosts in the base game, but the highlight is always catching a Black Marlin with a big multiplier. The pace felt balanced, making it ideal for longer sessions that does not rush you to place bets that are higher than what you are used to. All in all, a solid game.
