When it comes to special features, Dio Killing the Dragon is fully equipped for vanquishing of the dragons. The main thing about the game is its Free Spins booster, which comes with three potential modifiers that can be triggered mid-round. In the base game, you get to enjoy Locking up the Wolves feature, which essentially binds Wilds to the grid and produces a Respin.

• Lock up the Wolves:  A Wild landing in an open cage automatically launches the Lock up the Wolves feature. This is a Respin booster, meaning the Wild will be locked on the grid and a Respin of all the reels happens. With the Respin, you get another open cage, and if it’s filled with a Wolf wild, you get another go, etc. This continues until four Locked up Wilds are on the grid, or until there are no new Wilds on the grid.
• Free Spins: Free Spins are unlockable via 3, 4, and 5 Scatters. The number of Scatters determines the number of rounds – you can spin either 6, 8, or 12 times, respectively. An interesting thing that happens in Free Spins is that you get three middle reels surrounded by an open cage. Should a Wild land into one, it will become sticky (Locked up) and activate the Wild One feature.
• Free Spins Modifiers: During the free rounds, you might get a special symbol which activates one of three different game modifiers. The first is the Fallen Angel, which adds a wild atop the first reel. This Wild will slide down by 1 position with every new spin. The second is a Symbol Upgrade, which upgrades the lowest-ranked icon to a Dio symbol. Once the Dragon is defeated, all icons transform into Dio. And finally, we have the Wild Multiplier, which attaches a Multiplier 1x-5x to a random Wild on the screen.

OUR EXPERIENCE PLAYING DIO – KILLING THE DRAGON

By now, we’ve had the chance to try out several Play’n GO music slots, including Sabaton, Saxon, and Testament.  By now, Play’n Go has released a handful of music slots themed after popular rock and roll and heavy metal bands.

Does Dio Killing the Dragon come at the top as the best of them? Not necessarily, but one cannot deny that it is definitely an interesting addition to the growing family of music slots.

We love the visuals, like always. Play’n GO really knows what it is doing with these designs and graphics, as everything looks spectacular! Oh, and we love the fact that you can listen to an actual Dio song (Don’t Talk to Strangers) whilst spinning the 5 reels.

Another thing that we liked is that the game has high volatility that matches the high payout. It’s a very high win potential – 15,000x – so we kinda like that the supplier matched the temperament and the reward. We are also aware that the game is not suitable for novices, though.
